On The 18th January 2003 a Wild Fire
devasted the Western suburbs of Canberra,
destroyed many homes and affected every
resident.
My sister Janice and her 4 children , who live a couple of sreets closer to the fires than I do were evacuated. They came to my place where i had no electricity but did still have a working Telephone.
For 4 days we camped in the house with torches and candles, a camp stove, battery
operated radio and ice in the Esky.
When the electricity was restored it was time to assess the damage and start the clean up. Where to begin... ...with our filthy FEET
