This piece was my first attempt at crazy patchwork in Oct 1984, I had seen a picture of a cream on cream vest in a book and wanted one, I didn't get too far on this first attempt as I had little idea of what I was doing, I didn't have enough fabric and the backing was too flimsy. A friend gave me 20cm each of 3 fabrics and a couple of braids for my birthday and I finished my next attempt in time to wear it to that year's patchwork group exhibition.
